Youths Charged After Dakabin Burglary

Police have arrested three youths after a number of burglary and stolen vehicle offences in Dakabin over the weekend.


Around 1.15am on April 23, three people attended a Gunsynd Drive, Dakabin address where they allegedly used a lighter to burn a hole through the security mesh on the screen door in order to access the lock.


One of the boys has allegedly used a knife to jemmy open the locked wooden entry door, allowing entry into the house.


The resident was alerted by the noises and found the front doors of the house open. No property was stolen from the address.


The resident has then accessed his CCTV camera and observed the offence and reported it to police. QP2200689321 refers.


Shortly before 2.15am on April 23, a Corella Street, Dakabin, a resident heard noises at the front and rear of her property and found that the wire of her front screen door had been cut.

Shortly after, the resident observed two males running from her address and contacted police. QP2200689971 refers.


The alleged offenders have gained entry to the neighbouring house through an unlocked back door to the garage. Access has then been gained to the main house where the keys to two vehicles were stolen and used to take the two vehicles.


The vehicles were located by police a short time later. One was located Olsen Circuit, Dakabin and the other on Peacock Road, Dakabin. QP2200689312 refers.


Police were conducting patrols in the area at the time, searching for the alleged offenders.

A police dog unit tracked the alleged offenders to a Silurian Lane, Kallangur address where they were arrested and charged with multiple offences.


Further offences of burglary, attempted break and enter and stealing from a vehicle, were reported at Raffindale Avenue, Dakabin (QP2200689878 refers) and Honeyeater Crescent, Dakabin (QP2200691210 refers) and Heron Close, Dakabin (QP2200692484 refers) between April 22 and April 23.


A 13-year-old Morayfield boy was charged with enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence, burglary, two charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempted entry of a dwelling house. He was remanded in custody and will appear in the Caboolture Childrens Court on May 4.


A 14-year-old Morayfield girl was charged with enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence, burglary, receiving tainted property, breach of bail and two offences of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence. She was remanded in custody and will appear in the Caboolture Childrens Court on April 27.


A 13-year-old Caboolture boy was charged with enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence, burglary, two charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempted entry of a dwelling house. He was remanded in custody and will appear in the Caboolture Childrens Court on April 29.
