Deception Bay woman celebrates “unreal” $1.5 million Keno win

A Deception Bay woman has described the moment she discovered her $1.5 million Keno 10 Spot win as ‘unreal’.

The happy winner held a Keno Classic 10 Spot winning entry in draw 618, drawn 18 December 2020 and takes home a prize worth $1,555,758.70.

Sharing her excitement with a Keno official today, the regular player revealed she was still in shock.

“It’s wonderful!” she exclaimed.

“I go to the sports club every week, and whenever I am there, I play Keno.

“I couldn’t believe it when I checked my ticket and saw that I had won over a million dollars!

“It was unreal.

“I’m not sure what I am going to do with it. I just don’t know. I’ll just have to wait until it lands in my bank account.

“It’s still sinking in!”

The thrilled winner purchased her entry at North Lakes Sports Club, 36-42 Flinders Parade, North Lakes.

North Lakes Sports Club Venue Manager Craig Allan said he was overjoyed for his winner.

“Everyone was so excited once we found out we had sold such a massive prize!” he exclaimed.

“We’ll be celebrating the win throughout the venue all week.

“I think our patrons will feel a little bit luckier knowing we’ve sold a 10 Spot prize.

“Congratulations to our winner! The team at North Lakes Sports Club wish you all the very best!”

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 58.4 million wins collectively worth more than $776.79 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $38.72 million. Four of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a group of three long-time Cairns friends who scored a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize worth more than $5.9 million.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 19.49 million Keno wins totalling more than $249.57 million at pubs and clubs across the state in the 12 months to 30 June 2020.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.

About Keno Keno is a fun game played at more than 3,500 pubs and clubs across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria. A Keno draw occurs approximately every three minutes. During each draw, 20 numbers are drawn from 1 to 80. Players simply match the numbers on their entry to the numbers drawn for a chance to win over $1 million. There are a range of Keno games to play, including Keno Mega Millions – a higher jackpot version of Keno Classic that uses the same Keno ball draw but gives players the chance to win $5 million or more.
