Caboolture Rugby and Touch in the Spotlight

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan this week inspected the new $150,000 lights at Morayfield’s Petersen Road sporting fields.

Mr Ryan was joined for the inspection by CSC Group Sports and Community Manager Tony Clark, Caboolture Rugby Union Club Manager Andrew Mohr and Caboolture Rugby Union Club Development Officer John Flew.

Mr Ryan said the new lights were a major improvement to the Petersen Road facilities, used by Caboolture Rugby Union and the Caboolture Touch Association.

“These new lights are spectacular,” he said.

“With both rugby and touch footy expanding in our local area, teams need to be able to train and play in the evenings.

“Prior to the last state election I made the commitment to fund this $150,000 lighting upgrade, and it’s a pleasure to deliver on that commitment within twelve months.

“I’m a firm believer in the benefits of sport to our community, and will always fight to make sure our local clubs are well resourced.”
